The build season last from kick-off day, January 4th, to stop build day, February 18th.

Six weeks of cutting, crafting, wiring, and programming the robot. It is the shortest and longest six weeks of the year.

This year the challenge involves throwing a 24" diameter exercise ball through a goal. It is helpful to have a goal to practice shooting through.

Games in a nutshell.

In January FRC announces what the "game" will be. Every team will then have 6 weeks to design and build their robot for competition. This is a very intense 6 weeks! In 2014 the competition was called Arial Assist. The robots were put into a team of 3 robots. Then, they tried to score points against the other team. Points are scored by making the ball go through the upper goals, a goal in the corners on the floor, passing the ball from robot to robot, passing the ball from human player to robot, or by throwing the ball over a truss in the middle of the field.
