PrototypeX was invited to help with the FIRST robotics competitions at ComicCon. This was a great experience for team members. Our team helped set up the field and take down the field when the games were over.
We were able to talk to MANY people from the community about the importance of FIRST and STEM related activities for the youth in our community. We had a lot of fun running the robot again!
Here are a few comments from some team members:
Corrine: I went to Comic Con Sept. 4th. I got to drive the robot for the first time, and I got to be a human player, which I really liked. It was cool to drive on the real field. I think one of my favorite parts was to talk to people about FIRST and see them be interested in our robot. Because I'm a new team member this was my first time going to an event like this. I'm glad I got to go!
Jakob: I enjoyed the opportunity to drive the robot again; it renewed the wonderful memories I made at the Salt Lake Regional and the World Festival last year. I was glad that PrototypeX and FIRST were able to hold a booth at the Comic Con and that there were many people who watched our matches. I am glad I had the opportunity to introduce people to FIRST and get them excited about STEM.
Adam: I
enjoyed going to Comic Con because it was the first event I got to
attend as an intern on the team PrototypeX. It was a great chance for
me to get to drive the robot and do all the other jobs. I am really
excited for competition this year!
We want to thank all of our team members, mentors, coaches, and parents for making Comic Con a great success for our team and for FIRST in Utah!
