What is FIRST Robotics Competition?

FIRST Robotic Competitions (FRC) is an exciting mentor-based program that helps high school students develop science, engineering, and technology skills. It has been called the "Varsity sport for the mind."  Student team members work with professional engineers and mentors to create a robot in an intense six week build period that begins in early January.  Teams compete in regional competitions around the country with the goal of earning a spot at the FRC World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri.

With FRC students get to:

  • Work with volunteer professional engineers
  • Problem solve using advanced hardware and software solutions
  • Build a 120+ lb. robot to compete in alliances at regional and world competitions
  • Qualify for nearly $14.8 million in college scholarships

PrototypeX at Comic Con/GEEX Expo

Our team members had an bigger than expected audience at Utah's Comic Con.  The venue attracted more than 70,000 visitors.  We got to talk to more people about FRC, robots, and STEM than we ever thought possible.  Thanks to Dan Farr and Comic Con for the booth.
